Tim Rosie - Brass and Visual Instructor
Tim Rosie began playing the trombone as a 5th grader in Somers Point, NJ. After earning his Bachelor of Music degree in performance from Cedarville University, he went on to study at the University of North Texas, where he completed a Master of Music degree in Bass Trombone performance and continued with post-graduate work there. While at UNT, he performed with the Symphony Orchestra, the Wind Symphony, Lab Bands, and the Baroque Orchestra among various chamber groups. His emphasis in early music there allowed him the privilege to study music from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. He has also performed with the Lone Star Wind Symphony and currently serves as a bass trombonist with the South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble. Having been an active teacher for 15 years, Tim enjoys using his education to help others enjoy music of all genres and eras. He has coached low brass students of various skill levels on trombone, euphonium, and tuba. Additionally, several of his students have successfully competed in district and regional music competitions, winning the opportunity to perform in their respective honor bands. Intentionally attuned to the diverse goals of his students, Tim loves to help each student realize their potential and thrive in the process. |
